St Peter Port Capital

St Peter Port Capital Limited is a closed-ended investment company, launched in April 2007 and listed on AIM, which targets pre-IPO financing, providing funding to private companies in their last investment round before flotation. It was founded by a joint venture between Shore Capital and Broughton, a vehicle in which well-known pre-IPO investor Tim Childs is interested.

The Founders believe there is a large and growing number of investment opportunities available and have adopted a multi-sector approach, focusing on UK-based companies seeking to raise £2m - £4m. St Peter Port Capital offers investors access to a market that is often overlooked by larger venture capitalists and institutional investors and which has exciting potential for growth. Whilst there are a wide range of investors who participate in this market on an ad hoc basis, there are very few specialists and the market is not especially crowded.

The key to taking advantage of this opportunity is deal flow, which takes time to build up and depends upon the investor's reputation for timely commitments. St Peter Port will benefit from the excellent network and reputation which Tim Childs has developed over 13 years of unquoted investing and from the experience of its non-executive chairman, Bob Morton. As a measure of confidence in and commitment to this investment opportunity, Shore Capital, Broughton (Tim Childs' interests) and St Peter Port Capital's non-executive chairman, Bob Morton, have invested a total of £10m of a total of £75 million raised by the Company.
