SCGL – Directorate Change

The Board announces that the Group’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Howard Shore, is relinquishing his operational responsibilities as Group Chief Executive and these will be taken over by Simon Fine and David Kaye as joint Chief Executive Officers. Mr. Shore remains Executive Chairman of the Group and will focus on its international investment strategy, including developing new relationships as well as investment opportunities.

As part of their appointments, Simon Fine and David Kaye will join the Group’s Board of Directors. The appointments are intended to take effect in April 2017, subject to regulatory approval.

Commenting on the appointments, Mr. Shore said:

“Having led the Group’s growth and development for 32 years I am extremely excited by the favourable environment for our operating businesses and the compelling opportunities that lie before us. Simon and David have worked closely with me for many years and I am delighted that they have agreed to lead the Group’s future development.”

“As we reported in today’s results statement, our capital markets and asset management businesses are performing strongly and are well positioned for the future. This success is a testament to Simon and David’s leadership and the excellent teams they have helped to assemble.”

Simon has a 15 year track record of success at Shore Capital since joining in 2002 as Chief Executive Officer of our Capital Markets business. In the 11 years since David joined the Group in 2006, he has been instrumental in the success of the Asset Management’s diversified international investment activities, initially as the Group’s General Counsel and, more recently, as Chief Executive Officer of this division.
